A record

The A Record is commonly used to map hostnames to an IP address of the host. This directs traffic associated with the domain name to your hosting provider so that the site can be viewed using the domain name.

Account

Created for security reasons, an account offers access to an authorized user of an operating system or a product, such as the CMS. This is also called ID, user ID or login.

Actions

Within the Grouptree CMS actions are used to execute changes such as saving a draft, publishing, or recycling a page. Actions are executed via the actions menu.

Alignment

Alignment refers to the way in which content is positioned. It may be positioned to the left, right, centre, flush/left, flush/right, or flush/centre of the defined width and length of a field.

Alt tag

Alt tags are used to describe the attributes of an image on a web page. When a user places their mouse over an image a small descriptive tag opens describing the image. Alt tags are used to make sites more accessible to visitors with disabilities who may be using screen readers to browse a site.

Application programming interface (API)

An API is a set of data structures, commands and functions that programmers can use to access methods and object within a framework to create bespoke applications. API’s provide an established resource set enabling programmers to shorten the time required to create new applications or extend the functionality of an existing application. Grouptree has an extensive API for managing web based resources.

Assets

An asset in Grouptree is the base object to every type of object in the CMS. Assets are hugely extendible but all share common functionality and properties required to run in the Grouptree Framework. Examples of assets are pages, images, css files, users, news articles and modules. Assets are the core idea beneath the entire Grouptree Framework.
